Timeless Memories

Happy Friday!  This week went by so slow.  I sort of took the week off from "creating".  Until tonight.  I have some stuff on my to do list for Scrap-A-Doodle Doo.  Not finished but I did make a dent in 1 project.  :)  But that's not why I am posting today.

Today I want to share with you a layout I did.  The idea from this layout was "borrowed" from Irene Tan.  Let me just say.  Another awesome lady. I'ma just'a sayin.  I did change it up a bit but ended up using the same papers as she had.  Holy Macro.  I love it.  I really enjoyed the hours I spent in making this layout at the Crop this past Saturday with some dear friends.  Who I really hope invite me again to join in their sacred group.  :)  The reason it took me hours is because I kept Talking, shopping, shopping some more, eating, and eating some more.  But any way, you get the gist of why it took me so long.  :)  he he he..

Oh I got side tracked.  Here is the layout.

I used a Creative Memories large circle cutter to cut the page in a circle.  I may have to do more circle layouts as I like the way they look.  The Base of the page began as a 12 x 12 sheet of coordination's paper that you sand and the core shows through on the embossed parts of the page.  In this page it was the clocks.  The pattern paper is by TCP.  And the word ante the clock happened to be on the same sheet.  I just cut them out.  The Pattern behind my picture is from October Afternoon in their Thrift Shop collection.  I happened to have a Skeleton Key I got from the Michael's Dollar spot a while back and decided to use it on this page.  It is a little chunky for a scrapbook page, but hey, I like chunky pages.  :)  All the stitching is done by hand.  The flowers are from Prima.  I had some ink still on my sponge when I inked up the edges of the October Afternoon paper so I just added a little color to the flowers to help them blend a little better.  On top of the "clock" cut out I attached a Tim Holtz clock face to it to add a little more weight to the page as well as to blend in with the key.

If you will take a moment and look the right of this page you will see a "follow this blog" via facebook.  Click on "follow" to follow me.  :)

Thanks so much for looking at my blog today!

I'm Back...

Hi Friends..  I am back.   I had switched to blogger but decided I liked typepad better.  So lets get the ball rolling.

This cute guy in the picture is my nephew Matt-Matt.  He is just the most adorable little kid there is.  So smart for a 2 year old too I might add.

Everything on this page was hand stitched.  It is so therapeutic to sit down and just stitch away. I used distress inks along the edge of my paper.  Did tearing along the edge to give it a little bit of a "used" look.  The Stars and the photo corners are chipboard that I glimmer misted to give it the color I need plus a little bit of glimmer.  I used Rusty Pickle paper with bazzill for the back of the page.

This layout above was inspired by:  http://mymomentsoftranquility.blogspot.com/  She does some amazing work.    I love her stitching work and decided to give it a shot on my own layout.  :)

Thanks so much for visiting my blog.  :)
