I love this Man!

Happy Monday!  I hope this week flies by.  My sweet hubby and I will be in Tennessee for the 4th of July week.  I can't wait.  We have nothing on the schedule just to sit back and relax.  We love going to my mothers because we can take our dog Skip and she relaxes and does not get in a hurry for anyone.  ha ha...

This past week end I got the itch to scrapbook.  I have been wanting to scrap for a while now.  Just not enough time in the day.  So this past saturday night, very late I might add.  (It was almost midnight) was the day (or night) for me to scratch that itch.

After perusing my pictures I decided on this one.  It is a snapshot of my husband from Christmas 2009.  I didn't want to use Holiday supplies as I wanted to focus on him and him alone.

The supplies I used are Stella Rose by My Minds Eye and Prima flowers and bling.  The Heart is hand drawn by folding the paper in 1/2 and drawing the 1/2 heart.  (you know,  the way you learned in grade school.lol) I used the We r Memory Keepers Sew Easy to go around the heart.  I then did a back stitch with white DMC thread and embroidery needle.  I distressed all the edges with Heidi Swapp Edge distresser.  The letters are from American Crafts Thickers.  I hand punched the little red heart out with a Stampin Up punch.  I used my printer to print up the quote at the bottom of the page and I cut out each word and ink distressed the white cardstock with Scattered Straw distress ink to give it a more softer look.  The border punch that I used on one of the stripes is from Fiskars.

Hope you all have a fabulous Monday!  and I hope to be back soon with more creations.  :)

Masculine Thank You Cards

I don't know about you, but i have the most difficulty when making a Masculine card.  Do you?

This past Monday I had a customer of mine ask for 8 masculine cards with a wine theme on the front for Thank You cards.  She said she would like burgundy.  However, I didn't have burgundy and didn't have anything to match with it.  Nor did I have a wine stamp.  So off to my favorite LSS I went.  (LSS means Local Scrap Book Store)  You guessed it.  SCRAP-A-DOODLE-DOO.  I new they had this stamp in as I have been eyeing it.  So I stopped by there on Tuesday and bought it.  It is by Inkadinkadoo and is so cute.  :)  At first I stamped the image with my momento black ink and realized that the ink is to bold.  It doesn't look like a sketch with how dark the black was.  So a quick fix and a tip for you.  :)  I stamped the image off on my scrap paper first then stamped it on my actual paper that I using and it made the black a softer black.  That I could work with.  :)  Then next tried coloring the image with my copics, but it didn't look right.  I didn't like the boldness of the color. So I pulled out my q-tips and my chalks and colored the images that way.  It gave it a softer look and looks much better with the sketchy look.

What a Week End and Stamp Club

Wow What a Week End!  Friday was fabulous.  Got to spend the afternoon/night with the girls at the "Doo". (Sherri, Adina, Stephanie and Norma) We got to enjoy each others company with Sangria, Sushi, and lots of laughs while we were completing some projects for CKC.  We all had a great night and it lasted until really late.

If you haven't heard, Scrap-A-Doodle-Doo is going to have a BOOTH at the CKC in Valley Forge.  Be sure to stop by and say hello.  We have a lot planned for this show.  And we still have a lot to do to get things finished in time.

Saturday's events were to go to Hurricane Harbor at Six Flags with my husband and some friends.  However,  it was rainy, cloudy, and kinda cool on Saturday, so I decided to stay home.  Water park with Rain, cloudy and cool weather don't mix in my book.  My husband and friends all had a great time despite the weather.  I, on the other hand, slept til noon.  Then I had to battle a call with my cell provider, AT&T, since I didn't have cell service in my home since Thursday.  And ended up with a bit of a headache and decided to take a little nap.  While napping, the power went out.  Good thing the weather was crappy that I didn't need the AC as it would have been miserable since the power didn't come back on until after 7pm.  crazy.  I did manage to get all my kits ready for Sundays Stamp Club at the "Doo".  The below card is the card we made at Stamp Club.  We used a Tissue Paper Technique with a glue stick.  Such a fun and easy way to add texture to your project.

June Stamp Club 1
Another thing that I used on this card was 2 different papers.  One sheet was from Bo Bunny's "Peacock" line (the green, purple, and turquoise striped paper) and the other one was from Little Yellow Bicycle's paper line.(the purple striped).  My suggestion for you is to look on the back of each paper when trying to decide on a pattern paper to work with your art work, whether it be a scrapbook page, a card or any altered art. The stamp I used is from heartfelt Creations and is so great for coloring with the copic markers.

Hope you don't mind my ramblings and have a great Monday.
