Pansy card with a Tutorial

Hi Everyone,

Happy Friday!  Yesterday was my day to post over at PINK BY DESIGN and I shared the card below with the tutorial.  Hope you enjoy and learn something new.  I can't take credit for this as I had a dear friend show me how to do the pansy's.  :)

My favorite kind 4 26 2012

I new I wanted a cluster of Pansy's so I just clustered them all together and then put a few leaves in the mix.

The sentiment is using Pink by Designs "MY FAVORITE KIND".  This set is currently the Stamp of the Month!  CLICK HERE FOR MORE DETAILS!  (and is Currently my Favorite set!!)

To make these pansy's you will need :  Feel free to click on the pictures to make them bigger.

  • Butterfly punch (or a shape that is similar to one shown.)

  • a few re-inkers

  • water brush

  • a water spray bottle.

  • Non-Stick Mat

  • Black Pen

  • Piercer and foam mat

  • Heat Gun

  • Brads

 1.  Spray your butterflies with water.  The water should puddle on top of the butterflies.  (Your butterflies could be cut out using a punch or a silhouette image you may have.  Just make sure they are solid)

2.  Take your re-inkers and do a little drop on your non stick mat.  A little goes a long way.  If you need more you can always add more.  :)

3.  With your water brush "dip" the tip into the yellow re-inker.  (you can you and combination of colors you choose.  I used yellow for the center and a rose color for my edges.  Pansy's usually have a little white in them, so I left some in the middle. )

4.  After you "dip" the tip in the re-inker just smudge it on where you want it to go.  The water will move it around.  The best part is that no 2 pansy's will be alike.

5.  Add your second color into the mix.

6.  I wanted my colors to bleed some more so I sprayed it again with water.

7.  I used my heat gun to head dry my butterflies.  (you can let these sit until they are dry.  I don't have any patience for that.  lol)

8.  Use your black pen to draw the stripes into the flower.  Just quick little strips that lead to a center.

9.  Use your paper piercer to polk a hole in the center of the butterflies for your brad to go through.

10.  I used my paper piercer, the other end, to roll out my edges of the butterfly.

11.  This is what it looks like at this point.  Then you layer them up and put your brad in to secure them together.

12.  Your finished product should look something similar to this.  Remember:  NO 2 Pansy's are alike!  :)

Have a great day everyone!  :)

Seed Packet Holder

Hi Everyone!  :)

As Tuesday is slowly trucking along I thought I'd pop in here and share another card with you.

On Friday I am in a Shoe Box Swap with some great friends.  A shoe box swap is where you prepare 1 card/project and everything to complete that card/project is included in the box.  (minus the basic tools like glue scissors....)  then you go around the room from spot to spot to put together every ones projects/cards.  :)  There are NOT ANY SHOES in the shoe box swap.  :)  lol

This is my card/project I created.

Sunflower seed packet 1This is a "Match book" style card.  The bottom is stapled to create a pocket.  The top lifts up from under the "Happy Birthday" portion of the card.

Inside view here:

All the items used in this project are Stampin' Up.  (except the Sunflower Seed Packet)  :)

This past Saturday I went with some friends to a Tea House in Wayne, NJ for High Tea.  We had a great time.  Then afterwards we went over to my dear friends house for an afternoon of stamping and chatting.  This is one of the cards I came up with.  It is kind-of a simple card which every now and again we all need a little "Simple" in our lives.  :)

Thanks butterfly

All the supplies here are by Stampin' Up except the seam binding ribbon which was purchased at a cute little vintage place in Montclair, NJ called Parcels.  I love the "peachy-orangey" color.  I may have to go and add more to my ever-growing stash of ribbon.

Subway Art: My Pink by Design Post

Hi Everyone,

Woop-Woop It's Friday!  :)  What makes it special is that it is the day after my post at Pink by Design.  Which means I can share with you my post I posted.

Subway artAll ink, card stock, and the punch that is used are Stampin' Up.  The stamp is by PINK BY DESIGN called Subway Art.

For my project I used the Subway Art Stamp set.  This set is so unique that I just LOVE IT.  The reason I say it is unique is that you can use it as a whole to create a nice background or you can use each word as an individual stamp.  SO AWESOME.

I decided I wanted to use my stamps as individual stamps and use different colors for each one.  Then I layered them on top of each other to give it a nice background look.  So I guess you can say it is the best of both worlds.  :)  I didn't want to add lots of embellishments to take away from the words so I just threw in a scalloped border to add another step in the card.

You can even cater it to many different seasons by simply changing the colors.  This one is a little funky with the hot pink and the blue with the black.  Just think of all the colors you could use.  :)  Makes my heart skip a beat just thinking about it.

Happy (belated) Easter!

Hi Everyone,

Can't believe that I missed wishing you all a Happy Easter!  This week end was a busy one, even-though I was off on Friday.  I feel like I need another day off to recoup from the week end.  However,  It was  fun filled week end.

My niece Luna and I did our hand at dying some eggs.  We made a canvas with Justin Beiber on it and made a cute little bag for her to carry her treasures in.

Saturday, was prep day for Easter.  And then the festivities began on Sunday.  I made this awesome Guacamole.  (my first time).  It was a hit.  Will have to make it again sometime soon.  (a little less spicy though).

Inky antics turtle bath

Today's card is using a stamp that a friend let me borrow to stamps some images of.  This one is from Inky Antics.  I love this little turtle in the shell.

It was stamped with my Momento Ink and then colored in with my copic markers.  I did a little fussy cutting of my image and pop dotted him up off my card.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Be sure to come back tomorrow for a  sneaky peeky of my card class on 4/29 at Scrap-a-Doodle Doo.
