Hello Week-End...

Hi Everyone,  What's your plans for the long week end?  I have been off work since I left work at 2:30 on Tuesday.  Yay Me.  I have enjoyed staying home this week.  I got up when I wanted, went to bed when I wanted.  And, if I wanted a nap... Well, you guessed it.  I took one.  lol

I did manage to mark a few things off my list.  I am hoping I can mark a few more this week end.

Yesterday was my day to post over at the Pink by Design blog. And I made this cute card.  The stamps are little $1 stamps from Michael's.  The Sentiment is from Pink by Designs "A Haunting we will go".   I colored my images in with my copics and then cut them out to pop up off the card.

One of my projects I did was a little more organizing in my Scrap-Room.  If you are a crafter, stamper, or even a scrapper, you know this is an ongoing process.  I did pull out all my Halloween/Fall Stamps and put them in a basket.  These are what I want to use in the next few weeks.  I even got my Paper Trey Ink order in so I can use some of those cuteness's of stamps.

I also got some "Pink" mail today.  I already made a card with it.  Can't wait to show you.  SOON.

Thanks for stopping  by today.

Happy Halloween- Paper Smooches Style

Yay for Monday!

I am off work today, so that is why I can say "Yay for Monday".  :)  This whole week was suppose to be my "Stay-cation" week.  Then last week my boss asked me if I could work on Tuesday.  Please keep him in your prayers if you are the praying type.  He is going in for a biopsy tomorrow.  But for the remainder of the week I will be HOME.

This week I want to relax, work on a few projects and organize some things around the house.

Today I am sharing a card I made.  This one is using Paper Smooches Stamp set called "Halloweenies".

I stamped the image with momento ink and colored it in with my copic markers.  After I was done coloring, I cut little frankie out and pop dotted him up off the page.  I added the stars and bats with a cute sentiment on the bottom.  All these are included in the "Halloweenies" stamp set.

This card is a "almost" single layer card.  :)

Thank you for stopping by today.

G45 Tropical Paradise Mini Album w/ Box

Hi Everyone,

I am excited to share with you a Graphic 45 Box and Mini book I altered using Graphic 45 Tropical Paradise 8 x 8 paper pad.   This Box was created for Scrap-a-Doodle Doo in Ramsey, NJ.

This is the cover of the box.  Look at all those goodies.

This is what the inside of the box looks like.

This is the inside of the box with the Mini book inside.
This is one side of the mini book.  With lots of tags and pull tags.

This is the back side of the Mini Album.  It has even more tags and pull tags.  I hand stamped a bunch of tags to go into the pocket.

The above pictures are what the side of the box looks like.

To get the holes in the side of the box.  I marked the spot with a pencil, then used my Big Bite to punch the holes.  Covered the back side up with designer paper so you don't see the holes from the inside.  Loop it over to the button and voila- It closes.

And that is my crinkled ribbon you see on the side of the box.  You can find this ribbon in my Etsy Shop.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Captured Moments

Hi Everyone,

Here is another project I created. I love these little books by Amy Tangerine.  I have 3 more at home to alter.  I went to a store in Connecticut and seen just the cutest thing done with this style book.  So I went home and put one together "my way".  :)  What do you think?

This book is geared towards travel experiences and photo's.  I hand wrote the words "Moments" at the bottom of the book.
I love this camera paper.  It is just perfect for favorite snapshots.
There is even spots in the book for little notes.  Tickets and receipts of those special moments.

I love the chevron page.  Isn't it just the cutest?  These are just a few of the pages in the book.  There are a lot more.  Too much to put into a blog post.
This last page has a journaling page paper clipped to the back page.  You can even add more little tags and things to the last page.

It's cute right?

These are the Days-Mini Album

Hey Everyone,

I am so excited to share with you a mini album that I created.  It is so stinking cute.  I wanted to use pictures of my cute little nephew- Javier.  I think this turned out just perfect.

The box is a Jenni Bowlin Cigar Box.  I didn't want to alter the whole box.  So-I just went ahead and added onto the cover of the box.

Inside the Cigar box houses the mini album that I created out of 12 x 12 chipboard that I purchased from Walmart.com.  It has a nice thickness so that all the pages are uniform.
The chipboard piece on top is from a Tim Holtz movers & shapers die that I used in my sizzix machine.
Here is a picture of all the pages fanned out.  I used my corner chomper to go around all the edges and then inked all the edges with my Distress Inks in brown color.
The above picture is of the cover of the  book.  All the little embellishments are from the Sticker sheet from Note to Self Echo Park Collection.
Look how cute Javier is.  Check out that smile.
Javier and his mom.   In the pocket is a Tag that I distressed and added ribbon to tuck into the cute little coin envelope.
Since this is a mini book and I had some pictures that weren't so mini, I decided to add them anyway by just putting them slanted on the pages and then cut with my scissors.

I hope you enjoyed my project I am sharing with you today.

Thanks for stopping by.

The winner of the "Rainbow Blog Hop" will be announced tomorrow.  So stay Tuned.  :)

You Color my World with a little Washi

Hi Everyone,
Yesterday was my day to post over at Pink by Design. Here's my post:

Oh me-oh my, do I love washi tape??? Why, yes I do!

Today's project is using Pink by Designs stamp set called Simply Everything.

I cut a strip of white card stock that measures about 2" wide. I then cut it down to a little shorter in length than that of my card. Chose my color of washi tape and layered the colors on the white card stock. I decided to use the "Roy G. Biv" theory on how I want to lay out my Washi Tape. The colors are: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, (Indigo-not used) Violet Washi tape, But when I was done, I needed another color on bottom so I threw in a pink one.

To get the cute little fish tail, I measured the center of the width of the card and marked with a pencil up to about 1/2" to 1". Then I took my scissors and cut the point on each edge up to the top of the pencil mark.
After I got my fish tail banner ready, I ran that piece through my big shot with an embossing folder. I also embossed my black card stock with a different embossing folder.

The sentiment is from Pink by Design. I love their Simply Everything stamp set. It has so much on that one set that you can use for, literally, SIMPLY EVERYTHING. (pun intended..lol)

Ok, I am going to share with you.. Don't be alarmed!! I cut my stamp!!! I wanted "you color my world" into 3 lines so I can punch it out with a circle punch. So here is what I did. I cut gently between the words. They can go back together like a puzzle so no harm done. The stamp still works as one or separately.

Now on a different note, I thought I would share with you on how I store my Washi Tape.

I found this 3 tier tray at my local Home Goods for $12.99. I new it was going to go home with me. I have various embossing powders on top and the bottom ones I have my washi tape in them. I am not sure how long it will stay like this but for now it is working for me.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Reminder: Rainbow Party Blog Hop

You can find the "Rainbow" Party Blog hop here:

Pink by Design post

Hey Everyone, today is my day to post over Pink by Design. Check it out.

1:1--Tutorial Thursday: Flower Pot Card

Happy Thursday!!!,

Welcome to the First day of "Tutorial Thursday".

This is a card I did in a class at Scrap-A-Doodle-Doo in Ramsey NJ a few months back. I have posted this card on my blog before but I had a few people want to know how to make the card. So I decided to have it as my first "Tutorial Thursday" post.

  • 1 Kraft Card Base (measures 3 ¼ x 9, scored at 1 ¼ and at 5 1/8)
  • 2 White Card Stock 4 ¼ x 5 ½
  • 1 Tag
  • 1 Orange 3 ¼ x 1 ½ (for scalloped border punching)
  • 1 Green 1 1/8 x 3 1/8
  • 1 Pattern Piece 1 x 3
  • 1 Kraft 2 7/8 x 3 3/8
  • 1 Orange 4 x 2 ¼
  • 1 White 2 1/8 x 3 7/8
  • 1 Embossing Folder
  • 1 Distressed Stickles in Scattered Straw
  • Flower Stamp of choice
  • Black ink
  • Copic Markers color of choice
  • Frayed Burlap Distress Ink for inking edges
  • Corner Chomper
  • Strip of turquoise ribbon
  • Twine for tag
  • Pop Dots
  • Scalloped Border Punch
  • Paper Trimmer

Directions:

1. Fold your Kraft Card stock Base at the score lines.

2. Your shorter side will be in the back and the longer(including the little flap) will be on the front. Take a ruler and draw your lines up from the bottom to the top corner of the score line. Then use your trimmer to trim that piece off.

3. Take the other piece of Kraft Card stock and then do the same thing to create the inside portion of the cover. Then you are going to use your paper trimmer to trim the pieces off.

4. Run that piece through the big shot with an embossing folder. Then ink the edges of all pieces with the frayed burlap distress inks. Glue down that piece to the front of the card.

5. Take the small piece of orange card stock and punch the border with the border punch. Glue it to the bottom of the flap. Ink the edge with the frayed burlap distress ink.

6. Ink the edges of the Green piece and the pattern piece with the distress ink. Then glue the Green piece and the pattern piece on top of the flap.

7. Take the Turquoise ribbon and wrap around the top of the flower pot. (looks like the rim) Tie it in a pretty bow.

8. Ink the edge of the tag with the distress ink and stamp the word “SMILE” onto the tag. Use the Twine to tie it onto the turquoise ribbon.

9. Stamp the Flower stamp on both pieces of the white card stock. Color in with the markers provided. (on one of them you only need to color the center flower as you are going to cut it out and pop dot it up on the other piece when complete. When you are done coloring you will need to cut out the complete setting of one and then only the center flower of the other one. Pop dot it up on top of the main grouping of flowers.

10. Corner Round the remaining orange piece and the white piece of card stock. (Just the bottom) Then glue them on top of each other creating a mat.

11. Take the Flower grouping and pop dot up on the top portion of the tag. Only along the top of the tag put the pop dots. Then layer the flower so that it sets nicely in the flower pot.

12. Put your flower tab into the flower pot.

You are finished with your card.

  • Right now, I'd have to say, that Chevrons are in my top favorites. This cute little pattern (the black part of the card) is cut with my Cameo. It is a file that I found in the Silhouette Studio Store. It originally was a 12 x 12 pattern that I re-sized it to fit my 4 x 5 card.

The back ground "rainbow" portion of the card is a watercolor paper that I inked up with my Tim Holtz Distress Inks. I went in the color format of the "Roy G Biv" Theory. Which is : Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, & Violet. (I didn't use the Indigo color)

To get this technique you will need some water color paper, various Distress Inks, Non stick craft mat, & Water Bottle.

colors used: Barn Door, Spiced Marmalade, Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn, Salty Ocean, Seedless Preserve.

    1. On my Non-Stick mat I took my Distress pad directly to the non stick mat. Adding strips of color. Red on top, then under that Orange, then under that the yellow.... so on and so forth until all the colors you want to use are on the mat.

    2. After you got all your ink colors added to the non stick mat- I then spritzed the ink with water. Lightly.

    3. Took my watercolor paper and laid it directly down onto the inked up mat. Pressing firmly smoothing the paper into the ink with my fingers so I can make sure that every area is covered and took my time going over and over it to make sure the watercolor paper is soaking up the ink.
    4. Now for the dry process. If you are in a hurry you can heat the watercolor paper with your heat gun to rush the drying phase.

    5. After your watercolor paper is dry and you want more of a distress look, you may add more water to the watercolor paper. Then do the drying process again.
Here is a close up view.

On the butterfly: I wanted my red butterflies to match the Barn Door red color and I knew I didn't have a paper that would match. So, I swooshed my red pad ink directly onto the white card stock then I punched out 2 butterflies.

Layer the butterflies on top of each other to give the dimension. I added a small rhinestone to the head of the butterfly. Then I added some Star Dust Stickles around the butterfly.

After I glued it down to the base of the card I picked up the wings so it looks like it is fluttering.

The sentiment I chose for this card is from a Pink by Design stamp set called Capture Life. I love this set!! It is one of the Stamp of the Month Stamps.

I used my corner chomper to go around the whole card so it matched my chevron shape.

If you have read this far.. Thank you! :)

Sorry I was Sour

Hi Everyone,

Happy Tuesday! Dontcha just hate it when you don't have to go into work until later but when the time rolls around for the "normal" time for you to get off, you wish you were heading home??? Yeppers, That is me today. hmmm... Only 2 1/2 more hours to go and counting. :)
I just love the stamp set by Pink by Design called "Sweet Grams 2". This set really has a multitude of cute sentiments for candy. You really should check it out. :)

I found these cute little jars at Marshall's for $2.99 for 4 of them. They are really small and perfect for this project. I filled the Jar with "Sour Patch Kids" which goes perfectly with my sentiment "Sorry I've been sour". Lets face it... Every now and then we all need this in our forgiveness stash. {WINK}.
I took some bakers twine and wrapped it around the outer portion of the lid, to add color. Used glue dots to hold them into place. I wasn't sure how well it would hold up. But --So far it's holding up pretty well.

I used various punches to cut out the scalloped circle and regular circles. Layered them up on top of each other. I used Tombow Liquid Multi Glue and traced around the edge of the star paper and then took more bakers twine to follow the glue. Let it dry, then I added a button with bakers twine through the holes. Instead of tying the twine off behind the button I just held it over to the side and gave it tales. I used a glue dot to secure the button to the top of the jar. The last step was to stamp and cut my sentiment into a pennant/banner. Using a glue dot just tuck it under the button. See how easy that was.

Below is another view of the jar from the top down.

Thanks

I've got a fun card to share with you today using a Inkadinkadoo stamp. This was fun to put together with all the bright colors. Even though it is cloudy here in New Jersey I hope this card brightens your day. :)

I stamped this image 4 times in different colors of ink. Then cut out certain parts of each one and layered them accordingly on top of each other. I matted the finished piece with black card stock to make it pop against all the bright colors.

I cut 1/2" strips of pattern paper from K & Co Sweet Nectar paper line and used my EK Success Square punch to punch out the bottom of each of the strips to make pennants. Then I cut the strips to different lengths to have them staggered across the card. To finish off the card, I used my Scalloped border punch and make a border and then cut a very thin strip of black card stock to give it a place to ground.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
